Zelenka BTR - Backup-Truncate-Restore

SQL Configuration

Zelenka BTR requires Backend as MS SQL Server so whichever Databases user wants to do Backup / Truncate or Restore, will be configured in this Form. Various Methods of SQL Configurations are available here with Check Connectivity Option. All Databases will be defined here.

• Schedule Name: User Defined Name of the Schedule like Daily1, Weekly1 etc.

• Schedule Type: Selection of Schedule Type Like Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly. Depending upon the Schedule Type, relevant fields will come up for configuration.

• Start Date: Start Date of the Activity

• Database Backup or Database Backup & Truncate Option Selection with One or Multiple Database Selection from List.

• Status: Active / Non Active for this Record. Non Active Status will not get Executed on Scheduled Date and Time.

• Schedule Time: Time of Start of the Schedule. Zelenka BTR has introduced delay of 10 Minutes in the Start Time. If Start Time is 17:35 then Execution will start at 17:45.

• Last Days are no. of days before which Backup and Truncate will be done.

• File Path: Backup File Folder where Backup File will be Saved.

• Email Option: Instead of Saving the File in a Location, it will be emailed to designated Email Address.

• Next Schedule Date: Depending Upon Type and Configuration of Backup and Truncate, Next Schedule Date / time will be Calculated and Shown to user for his Reference.

Schedule Configuration (With Weekly Option)

If Schedule Type Selected is Weekly then after Schedule Time, Week Days Selection will take place. You can select one or multiple Weekdays for Weekly Backup or Truncate Activity. Backup / Truncate will get Executed on Weekly Basis.

Schedule Configuration (With Monthly Option)

If Schedule Type Selected is Monthly then after Schedule Time, Months and Days Selection will take place. You can select one or multiple Months and Days for Monthly Backup or Truncate Activity. Under Days, user can get Last Day of the Month Option as well. Backup / Truncate will get Executed on Monthly Basis.

Schedule Configuration (With Yearly Option)

If Schedule Type Selected is Yearly then after Schedule Time, Months and Days Selection will take place. You can select one or multiple Months and Days for Yearly Backup or Truncate Activity. Under Days, user can get Last Day of the Month Option as well. Backup / Truncate will get Executed on Yearly Basis.

Schedule Configuration Additional Settings (For Backup & Truncate)

For Schedular Configuration for Backup & Truncate, there are Additional Settings of Mapping SQL Database with Tables and Mapping Table Name with Column Names. Truncate Activity will delete all Data from Table before Taking Backup of the Database.

Windows Task Schedular Configurations

This Screen is just to show that when user does configurations in Zelenka BTR Application for Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Backup / Truncate Executions, Application sets corresponding options in Windows Task Scheduler in Background. User does not have to do anything for this. This is for your Reference. Image Shows Daily Backups Configured.

• Before Proceeding for any of the 2 Options to Restore, Application will Warn and Ask User Few Times for Confirmations.

Restore Application

Database can be Restored using this Application.

• Database Backup File: Selection of .bak SQL File

• Database Details: Selection of Database on which .bak file needs to be Restored

• Restore as Archive Database: With this Option, Live Database will not be Restored but Application will Restore Database with DB_Name_Archive. Live Database will not be disturbed but User can view Data from Earlier Backed Up Databases.

• Restore as Active Database: With this Option, Live Database will be Restored with Data from the .bak File.

Pre Requisite Zelenka BTR

For Backup and Truncate Utilities with Schedular, Client Data Tables has to have Date Time Column. Zelenka BTR will not work without that.
